With 29 golds and 76 medals at the Olympics, it is always among the best in the sport. Hungarian swimming began to make history with Alfréd Hajós (photo), nothing more than the first swimming champion in the modern Olympic Games and also the first Olympic champion from Hungary. After him, swimming in that country never stopped, with athletes such as Valéria Gyenge, Sándor Wladár, Albán Vermes, Tamás Darnyi, Attila Czene, Krisztina Egerszegi, József Szabó, Norbert Rózsa, Károly Güttler, Ágnes Kovács; and more recently Kristóf Milák, Katinka Hosszu, Hubert Kós and Kristóf Rasovszky in open water, among others. In the article we will understand how Hungarians are applying today's most modern swimming training method, LTAD, in their pools.

READ THE ARTICLE: About practical experiences from Hungarian swimming's long-term athlete development program

(IMAGE: Alfréd Hajós - the First Olympic Champion in swimming.Taken from the Official Report of the 1896 Olympic Games.Public Domain by age.)
2025-03-12T18:28:28+00:00https://revistanadar.com.br/index.php/Swimming-Magazine/announcement/view/1Scientific article by American swimmer reveals secrets of champions2024-08-16T19:52:22+00:00NADAR! SWIMMING MAGAZINE - Science magazine in water sports and fitness - swimming, water polo, synchronized swimming, diving, water marathons
Swimmer Kate Douglass, gold medalist at the Paris Olympics, reveals the secret of digital clones of US swimmers and provides us with a technical-scientific roadmap for training champions. Another pleasant surprise is knowing that an Olympic champion is also involved in Academia, authoring a scientific article in the area of Mathematics. In this important collaboration for the aquatics world, Douglass and collaborators have assembled a massive database of digital twins of more than one hundred of America's best swimmers. Thanks to the cooperation of USA Swimming and top college coaches across America, they have tested and developed twins of multiple NCAA champions, Olympic medalists and world champions. And what do they do with these digital twins? They are able to develop recommendations that immediately improve technique, offer suggestions for testing strategies, and point to long-term aspirational goals – all in pursuit of the ideal race.
