Uma revisão exploratória dos benefícios da natação em águas abertas para a saúde mental e o bem-estar

Resumo

A natação em águas abertas (também conhecida como natação ao ar livre ou em águas selvagens) é uma atividade popular que tem despertado interesse recentemente na área da saúde mental. Além disso, é uma atividade acessível e de baixo custo, que requer pouco ou nenhum equipamento especializado, além do acesso a um "espaço azul" apropriado. Consequentemente, pode ser uma intervenção eficaz e acessível que apoia a saúde mental e o bem-estar em todo o mundo. Esta revisão de escopo tem como objetivo resumir a literatura sobre natação em águas abertas. A natação em águas abertas pode levar a melhorias no humor e no bem-estar, redução dos sintomas de sofrimento mental e foi vivenciada como um processo positivo e enriquecedor para muitos. Os "espaços azuis" envolvem contato com o corpo, presença consciente, comunidade e muito mais, oferecendo para alguns um acréscimo terapêutico que sustenta a saúde mental e o bem-estar ao longo da vida.
